BRICK CHURCH MUSIC SERIES
Concert #6 - March 20, 2009

“Vive la France!”

A concert by 6 members of
the Vermont Youth Orchestra

Performers:

Samantha Angstman, piano
Samantha Bottom-Tanzer, violin
Noah Chornyak, double bass
Bronwen Hudson, harp
Quinn Parker, trombone
Duncan Yandell, violin

The 6th Brick Church concert involved an evening of solo and ensemble performances by 6 members of the Vermont Youth Orchestra. The kids performed to a sold-out house, and put on a world class performance.

The Vermont Youth Orchestra Association (VYOA) has enriched the lives of Vermont's youth for more than forty years. VYOA serves over 500 students from VT, NY, and NH with orchestral and choral programs for students in all levels of musical ability. The most advanced orchestral musicians make up the Vermont Youth Orchestra, guided since 1995 by the artistic vision of Music Director and conductor Troy Peters.

This coming July, the Vermont Youth Orchestra will go on a performance tour to Quebec and France, and this concert was a fundraiser to help these musicians with their travel costs. We also featured the artwork of Williston Artist Tally Groves ('Love Shacks'). John Davis, the VYOA Board of Directors VP, and VYOA Devlopment Manager Liza Reed helped with emcee duties.

For those interested in hearing more by the VYO, including the full orchestra and concert chorus, they will be performing mainstage at the Flynn on May 3. Tickets are available at the Flynn Box Office. I encourage all to attend--it will be a wonderful performance.

The best way to view these photos is to click on the 'slideshow' button in the upper RH corner of your screen. You can order prints online if you're interested; the cost includes only the lab costs plus shipping, or about $2 for an 8"x10" print. To order, go to the photo you want, open it by double clicking, and hover your mouse cursor over the upper LH corner to get an ordering menu. The watermark you see on the photos online will not appear on prints.

Performers who would like access to the digital photos (e.g. for CD, press/promotional, or website art, etc.) may do so at no cost--please contact me about this. Likewise, the photos may be used on a courtesy basis for press coverage or promotion of the Brick Church Music Series; please contact me if you would like access for that purpose. In either case, all I ask is correct attribution ("David Yandell") for printed or published photos.
