This was the 4th game between these two teams. Prior to this game, CSB had a 1-1-1 record against them with an early season loss (4-3), a Nov 22 win (3-1 ), and a Nov 29 tie (2-2).

This game would open with a Hanover Wild player called for a hitting from behind penalty at the 2:44 mark in the first period, CSB would make the best of the advantage with a goal at 3:19 on the powerplay scored by Chris Bulla with an assist from Jeremy Lerner (1-1-2). They would add to the lead again on the powerplay with a goal scored by Eric Craig assisted by Quinn Kropf and Tommy Royer at the 12:26 mark to end the period with a 2-0 lead, shots were 9-3 in favor of CSB.

The second period would see CSB added a few more goals while allowing Hanover one goal. All 3 goals in the 2nd period were scored while the teams skated 5 on 5. The first CSB goal of the 2nd period was scored by Drew Davis at the 3:16 mark assisted by Bernie Thibeault. The next goal would also go to CSB when Tommy Royer would convert a pass from Ethan Childs at 11:47 for a 4-0 lead. This score would last until the 13:46 mark when Hanover would score to cut the lead to 4-1 at the break. CSB still holding a shot advantage of 10-3 in the period.

Hanover would score early in the 3rd period to again cut into the lead with a goal at the 1:12 mark to bring the score to 4-2. This goal was scored while CSB had a carryover penalty from the 2nd period and a penalty early in the 3rd period to give Hanover a 5-3 advantage for well over a minute. They would only need 30 seconds. The score would stay 4-2 until late in the 3rd period when Jeremy Lerner would collect a loose puck in the center ice zone and go in shorthanded at the 14:21 mark for a big goal unassisted to put the game out of reach. CSB held the shot advantage in the 3rd period 9-5 with a game total of 28-11. The defense led by the pair of Griffin Brady and Bernie Thibeault who were +2 on the day kept the shots away from the CSB goal Zach Weimer who recorded his 8th victory of the year by blocking several shots on the day.
