Thc CSB Bantam A's played the Hanover Wild on Saturday afternoon in front of a sold out Cairns Arena. The fans were treated to a great game with CSB avenging their only loss of the season which came at the hands of the Hanover Wild with a 3-1 victory. The scoring would happen early in the 1st period with a goal just over 4 minutes into the contest. Tommy Royer found the back of the net with assists from Max Hopper and Bernie Thibeault. CSB would get another goal about a minute later, this time by Ethan Child with assists from Max Hopper(0-2-2) and Chris Weinheimer for a 2-0 CSB lead. The remainder of the 1st and 2nd period while CSB played most of that time shorthanded Hanover kept pressure on but it would be CSB who would get the 3rd goal with just :18 seconds left in the 2nd period. This goal was scored by Bernie Thibeault(1-1-2) which was his first goal of the season with assist from Matt Leonard. The team went into the locker room with a 3-0 lead, but not happy with the amount of penalties. The 3rd period was a period where CSB took control of most of the play, and the shots on goal told that story. The shots were 11-9 in favor of CSB in the 1st, 13-6 CSB in the 2nd and 18-4 CSB in the 3rd for a game total of 42-19. However, it would be Hanover who would get the only goal in the period on a breakaway with 10 minutes to play. All 4 goals were scored while skating 5 on 5 with Griffin Brady(+2)leading the group of solid defenseman.
