At present, I'm caring for and following about 145 apple trees that are either on our property or a relative's. I've planted about 90 of these over the last 20 years, some grafted and others that were purchased. The rest are a combination of orchard and yard trees on our property (originally a farm with two orchards) and that of family members. Most of the old trees are antique varieties that have not been productive for at least 40 years but I'm trying to bring back. There are also quite a few unknowns that may be seedling or sport, but are of interest as potential for cider. My goal is to try to document all of them sufficiently to identify varieties definitively, and for sports to determine whether they'll be good for cider. Photos here are of trees that are currently producing. Question marks indicate probable but unconfirmed varieties. Those in quotation marks are descriptive names, but not known varieties.
